Down To Earth Announces Strategic Leadership Appointments:Andrew Magley Named CFO, Tom Trombly Promoted to COO

By Brian French | Tech Intelligent Curation 3 min read

Down To Earth, a top provider of landscape and irrigation services headquartered in Maitland, Florida, is proud to announce two significant leadership changes: the appointment of Andrew Magley as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the promotion of Tom Trombly to Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Magley joins Down To Earth with extensive experience in finance and operations across branch-based and privately held companies. His expertise spans Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, and Business Process Improvement. Most recently, he served as Chief Transformation Officer at a 4PL logistics firm, following a series of financial leadership roles at a Fortune 500 private distribution company.

In his new role, Magley will oversee Finance, Human Resources, Fleet, and Safety Operations, reporting directly to CEO Tom Lazzaro.

“It’s great to have the opportunity to work with Andrew again,” said Lazzaro. “His ability to collaborate and drive meaningful results will be a tremendous asset to the Down To Earth senior leadership team.”

“I’m excited to join Down To Earth at such a pivotal time,” said Magley. “The company’s ICARE values and commitment to excellence align perfectly with my passion for building strong teams and driving operational success.”

In addition, Tom Trombly, formerly Vice President of Operations for the Southwest Region, has been promoted to the newly created role of Chief Operating Officer. Trombly will lead the Maintenance Division and oversee the Regional Operations Leaders (ROLs).

“With over 25 years of leadership experience in the landscape industry and a track record of guiding high-performing teams—including leading Down To Earth’s largest region for the past four years—Tom is perfectly suited to drive operational excellence in this critical role,” added Lazzaro.

These leadership changes reflect Down To Earth’s deep leadership bench and continued commitment to “Bring Natural Joy” to its customers.
